The story is mainly focused on Kevin Von Erich (played by Zac Efron), the lone surviving brother, and his love for his siblings, and it doesn't sugarcoat its portrayal of Fritz Von Erich, the patriarch of the family. Even still, the director was easier on Fritz than he could've been.
