Jennifer Chappell is a lifelong Louisvillian who was elected to serve as Councilwoman for District 15 on January 3, 2023. Currently, she serves on the Budget, Parks & Sustainability, and Public Works Committees. She was also elected to her second term as Vice Chair of the Majority Caucus in 2026. In February 2026, she was appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Energy, and Environment Nature Resources Federal Advocacy Committee. She also serves on the Public Art and Tree Commission. Before joining Metro Council, Jennifer spent more than a decade as a community organizer and neighborhood leader. That work shaped her commitment to thoughtful urban design, environmental stewardship, sustainability, walkable and connected neighborhoods, as well as coalition-building rooted in grassroots leadership. Her background in neighborhood advocacy and conservation continues to inform her approach to public service, with a focus on equity, livability, and long-term community resilience.
