SOLVED AFTER 10 YEARS: The Kara Nichols Case

Since March 2022, there has been a major update in the Kara Nichols case. In August 2023, Joel Hollendorfer was sentenced to 24 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the death of 19-year-old Kara, who went missing in 2012. While the conviction is a step toward justice, Kara’s family and local authorities believe the sentence is too lenient.
