Solved Missing Persons Case With An Unexpected Twist_ RACHEL BARBER _ Solved True Crime Documentary
from Coffeehouse Crime · host Coffeehouse Crime
On March 1, 1999, 15-year-old Rachel Barber left her Melbourne dance class with her trusted former babysitter, Caroline Reed Robertson, to participate in a "psychology study" for quick money. She was never seen alive again. Caroline strangled Rachel with a phone cord, hid her body in a wardrobe for two days, then transported it to her father's farm in Kilmore, burying it in a shallow grave. Police discovered Rachel's remains on March 13, and Caroline later confessed. Caroline's motive was a chilling, documented obsession: she planned to steal Rachel's identity and had detailed the murder in a journal. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 years in prison, released on parole in 2015.
