The Buoys hit over 50 years ago with "Timothy," often referred to as one of the worst songs ever to chart, with images of coal mines and cannibalism, the song nevertheless made it to #17 in 1971, and #9 in Canada.Furek follows the Buoys' members Bill Kelly and Jerry Hludzik as they became the Jerry-Kelly Band, then were renamed Dakota, and went on to open for Queen. The circles the band traveled in, stories from the road and cautionary tales abound in this book.A former psychologist and addictions counselor, Furek has also authored "Sheppton: The Myth, Miracle & Music," and "The Death Proclamation of Generation X."
