Hi everyone, my name is Dave Wright and welcome to the Play Development Project Podcast. Now this is a very brief but a special edition of the podcast and I am joined by PDP technical advisor Dan Wright. Dan, how are you today? I'm very well, thank you.
How are you, mate? I'm good, I'm good and I guess you're joining us today to announce a nice little project that you've been working on behind the scenes in a new initiative for Play Development Project. So do you want to share a little bit of insight to our listeners? Yeah, so very shortly we're going to launch a new kind of show to the channel which will be called On the Grass.
I suppose the big idea is to talk to people that are working on the grass and to share some practical advice that might help people in their environment. So this will be coming shortly and hopefully will be useful for coaches working with their kids and glean some stuff from coaches working in different environments and in different countries. Definitely, it's really interesting and I know you've got a few very interesting guests from different parts of the world and different areas of the world of coaching as well. Are you able to share some insight or guess without naming names as to what sort of conversations and topics are coming up?
Yes, we've got like I said a variety of different guests. I've been really testing the Wi-Fi in different places in the world. So we've got people from Ghana, from the States, from Canada, people coming from Ireland, we've got loads of loads of different different people working in different environments. We're going to talk about culture, we're going to talk about scanning behaviours, we're going to talk about unopposed versus opposed.
Kind of all these debates that bounce around on Twitter and on social media, we're going to try and bring those to life and get people's opinions on a few coaching bits, like I said, with a big idea of putting it back to practical advice that can help you in your environment. Sounds really good and I'm looking forward to hearing it myself. Now, I know that it's coming up shortly and the podcast has been getting some great feedback lately from members and also readers of the website. So we're really pleased that so many people are enjoying the podcast and getting some, I guess some good value out of it in terms of advice, in terms of practical problems or solutions to those problems.
In terms of the content that you'll really be drilling into, is there certain areas whether that's catering into the obviously to the gears, but are there certain areas you'll be looking to focus on most? Yeah, so the kind of format of the podcast is to talk to people about probably what they're specialising in. So one big idea, that's the nugget of the whole conversation. And then I've got the question cube.
So the question cube is, is 20 random kind of coaching questions, so similar questions to which you an idea with on the Q&A. And we select five of those at random and we kind of grill the guests about kind of regular coaching problems that people will be having, whether they're working with grassroots players or whether they're working in high performance environments. Real kind of questions that hopefully people can, like I said, glean some ideas from the will have them in their context. Well, it's really exciting to see this coming live, looking forward to heading the podcast.
For those who do listen regularly, please make sure you leave us a review or give us a rating in terms of whichever software you're using to tune into the podcast. It really helps us continue to get exposure in the coaching space on the podcast platforms. So Dan, well done on the new initiative. Look forward to a few exciting guests coming up and no doubt it'll be out very shortly.
