Something to Celebrate - Audio
from Chiangmai Christian Fellowship · host Tim Dunham
Exodus 15 is the first written record of Song in the Bible and the first time we see an event that inspires singing. The first mention of music goes all the way back to Genesis 4, so music has always been a part of life, but this passage is significant because it is the first time a song was worthy to include in the story of the Bible. So what is there to sing about now? It should be no surprise that this song celebrates one of God's most incredible rescues in the Old Testament. This is only the first of many such songs of praise in the Bible. It is obvious in Scripture that the joyful singing of praise to God is vital and a significant component of our faith. The study of this song and the story surrounding it, gives us important insight into where praise and joyful singing comes from, and what praise leads to.
