Something True with Derek Hunter

Check out this wonderful new song from Derek Hunter. Note: I wrote the lyrics for this song based on a blog post I wrote many years ago.Something True with Derek HunterPaint your world with colors bold,Don’t just blend them like a mold.If you use words people know,They’ll lose interest, so make them grow.In every song, add a twist,Make sure your fun is never missed. If you stick to what is clean and plain,Your voice and meaning will never wane.Be unpredictable. Be one of a kind.Don’t use the words people expect,They’ll grow bored, be testy, and blind,So be surprising and unchecked.Reveal something new.Reveal something true.Reveal something you!Something out of the blue.Draw with strokes no one has seen,Let your heart decide, don’t make a scene. If you follow the path they ask for,You’ll lose your way, you’ll bore.Write with passion, let it flow,In every line, let your spirit glow.If you play by someone else’s test,You’ll lose your touch, get outguessed.Destroy the mold, shatter the chain,Let your spirit set you free again. If you use the words they speak,They’ll forget, so keep it fresh and sleek.Be unpredictable. Be one of a kind.Don’t use the words people expect,They’ll grow bored, be testy, and blind,So be surprising and unchecked.Reveal something new.Reveal something true.Reveal something youSomething out of the blue.Just dare.Be rare.Do share.Say a prayer.Be fair.Just care.Reveal something new.Reveal something true.Reveal something youSomething out of the blue. You can order this tune for your music library here: https://payhip.com/b/VUCY5Book Marketing Success is a reader-supported publication.
