Send us Fan MailSo what goes on in Wes’s head? On this episode of Shaping Success with Wes Tankersley, we dive into Wes’s brain to get a taste of just that.  Wes starts off by discussing the Hedonic Treadmill which according to Wikipedia, is the “tendency of humans to quickly return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite major positive or negative events or life changes.” With this, he talks about 5 steps to building success using examples with his podcast:1. Desire – In Wes’s case, his desire is to help people become successful. 2. Striving – set as goal     to measure your success. His example is to strive for 100 views on his podcast. 3. Obtained – the goal is obtained.  He reaches 100 views.4.  Enjoy the goal – Take time to enjoy your success.5. Adapt – Set more goals. It’s important to build on that success by setting more goals to continue to get better.  Don’t get complacent.  The cycle will start again with another desire. Reevaluate.  His example is to now get 200 views, then 300 views and so on. Wes talks about his journey to success to using podcasting to generate more business.  Through podcasting, he realized his living passion was to help people. With every episode, people discover who he is and put their trust in him. He discovered his success story takes him further by finding like-minded people through his passion and forming relationships with them. With these relationships, he built a team to further help him climb the ladder to success.  Wes takes us back to when he first started college out of high school. His parents told him that the secret to success is going to college. As Baby Boomers, it is what they have learned. He ended up flunking out, but 11 years later, he went back to college and got a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Kinesiology and then went on to get his Masters in Education Technology. He did all this only reading one chapter in a text book. Nowadays, Wes has read more in the past 2 years than all his schooling. The books he reads now mean more than those textbooks. In school, people tell you what to read and how to think. Now he reads what fuels his soul.  #SWC #shapingsuccess #westankersley #successcoach #successisdefinedbyyou #motivationmindsetSupport the showFor merchandise, podcast and youtube:Join The Patreonhttps://patreon.com/WestankersleyFollow Shaping Success https://shapingsuccesspodcast.buzzsprout.com/Get Ars Victorioushttps://a.co/d/5f4todGhttps://a.co/d/5f4todGEmail [email protected] for guest ideas or to be on the show!
