Somewhere you can go
from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
Somewhere you can go When the bullets fly I wanna be the guy Pulls you up onto his speeding bike Has a charm, someone you would like Oh no the well’s run dry All the crops and cattle will die A suave sinewy stranger steps down from his horse And with a crack of his whip the sky opens up and pours I know you’ve traveled down streets that left you feeling uneven Woke up scared and scarred wondering if you’re coming or leaving Wasn’t there yet my blood boils, even though it was so long ago I’m here for you, and I will always have somewhere you can go If you need a little quiet time to find your place Maybe some days don’t want to share your space Just need a minute to breathe Understanding not to seethe Whatever you need me to do babe I’m on your side You are the apple of my eye, the object of my pride Always ready to ignite your flame Honey you know you do the same Ever since the day we met The pavement was still wet And the waitress dropped the sodas right in our laps We had so many things, some horrible crazy mishaps Though we been separated, silenced and kept in the dark In the pouring rain, with howling winds I still got a spark And from that tiny little spark came the warmest, brightest glow We are there together babe, forever we have somewhere to go Tim Windisch 09/06/2022
