With every wound comes a lie; with every lie, an agreement; and with every agreement, a vow. Ok so there is a country song out now called "Son of Sinner" by Jelly Roll. Yes, that is his name. Check out the song. It's a good song. A line from the song says, "Talk to God and tell Him what I think. At first, He's gonna hate me. But eventually He'll save me. I'm just a long-haired Son of a Sinner. Searching for new ways I can get gone." In this episode, we dive into our messed-up ideas about sonship to God. Many of us think God is gonna hate us for telling him exactly what we think or feel or how we have been wounded. So we buy the lie that God can't handle or doesn't care. We make an agreement with ourselves that He can't be trusted and vow to never be truly who we are with him. Our identity is corrupted by what we think it means to be a son. Yet God has a different definition of sonship. Take a listen as we begin to discover the true idea of what it means to be a son to a king.
