(Foto: FMX/Dominique Brewing) Es geht weiter in der VFX-Sommerpause: Animation Supervisor Dave Clayton nimmt hinter dem Mikro Platz und erzählt von der beeindruckenden Arbeit am Biopic &#8222;Better Man&#8220;. Für den Film verwandelte Dave mit seinem Team von Weta FX in Neuseeland den Sänger Robbie Williams in einen Schimpansen. Als Regisseur Michael Gracey an Bord des Robbie-Williams-Biopics kam, folgte er einem ungewöhnlichen Ansatz. Zusammen mit dem Singer-Songwriter entwickelte er die visionäre Idee, dessen Lebensgeschichte nicht mit einem Schauspieler zu erzählen. „Wie wäre es, wenn Robbie Williams in seinem Biopic ein Affe wäre?“ Williams selbst gab später zu Protokoll, dass er das Gefühl hatte, sich seit er in der Öffentlichkeit stand nicht mehr weiterentwickelt zu haben. Diese Entwicklung als Evolutionsschritt zu sehen, brachte die beiden Kreativen auf die Idee mit dem Affen. CG-Schimpanse Für Gracey übertrug Animation Supervisor Dave Clayton mit seinem Team von Weta FX in Neuseeland die Performance von Schauspieler Jonno Davies auf einen CG-Schimpansen. Der Effekt ist verblüffend.
