Songs of the Deep - Ambient Sleep Music | Whale Song & Cello
from Sleepbound Soundscapes · host Sleepbound Soundscapes · Ian & Alex
Songs of the Deep A cello sings in the dark water, and something far below answers. Hello, sleepy owls — thank you for being here. This one lives underwater. A single cello holds the lead through the whole night, slow and low, while the tide breathes in and out around it. Early on the playing is close and warm, near the surface. As the hours pass the cello drifts deeper and the spaces between phrases grow longer — and around the two-hour mark a whale begins to answer from far below, long calls that surface and fade. The deepest stillness settles near four hours, almost only tide and held tone. The cello rises again toward the end, lighter, as the water turns pale near dawn. It runs a full 8 hours, unbroken, meant to play straight through the night — set it going and let it carry you under. Rest well, and thank you for keeping this work afloat.
