Sonja Gantt: Creative Mornings Rewind

from The Charlotte is Creative Podcast Hosted by Charlotte Is Creative

Today’s episode is a conversation between Creative Mornings host Matt Olin and the speaker for July’s event, Sonja Gantt. Sonja Gantt has been the Executive Director of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Foundation since 2016, following a nearly thirty year career as a TV journalist. Sonja delivered a compelling talk on the Creative Mornings global theme of “End” at Biddle Hall on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University. In this episode of Creative Mornings Rewind, Matt Olin talks to Sonja Gantt about the role of the CMS Foundation in making our schools not just good but exemplary, how her background as a journalist benefits her work now, and the significance of having this conversation in the pews of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, designed by her father, Harvey Gantt.
