Sonya Massey

In this episode of Criminal Justice Corner, Dr. Jennifer Matthews and guest JustinOnTikTok discuss the highly publicized case of Sonya Massey. The body camera footage of the incident sets this case apart, as it clearly shows the unnecessary use of deadly force by the police. The officers responded to Sonya's call for help regarding a potential prowler, but the situation escalated when one officer became afraid of a pot of hot water. Despite Sonya's compliance and apologies, the officer shot her three times. The case raises questions about racial bias and the need for stricter body camera regulations. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jennifer-matthews87/support
