The eyes of the body can distinguish color, shade and depth - The eyes are used to judge between things and know their breadth. The eyes of the body detect the light from the dark - The eyes then can keep the feet on the sure and steady path. So too with the ears, they discern what the subtle world does send - Of all the beauties of music, and speech on them depend. To reason, explain, illuminate and show, We do, but, by our senses grow... The eyes of the Soul are also for discerning, To know and to see, and to apprehend most intimately, the learning. But just as the retina of the flesh must be clear - For the image to rightly, in that lens, then appear - So too for the eyes of the Soul, the retina of the conscience must be clean - For the image of God to be clearly seen. A spiritual eye clouded and made dark with sin, Remains blind and lost and dark within. A spiritual ear clogged up with lies, Will never hear the Lords sweet replies. Repent then, come clean, and regain your true sight - Birth your mind to day, from the ignorant night. Let your eyes then be opened, ears unsealed, From your lameness be now healed.
