from Sound Screen · host APM Music

Sound Screen Episode 218: Interview with Hip Hop Artist DEVMOThe human voice is arguably the most powerful musical instrument in the world. Not only can it articulate melodies and rhythms, but it can also convey messages that have the power to change the world. DEVMO is a Hip-Hop artist who knows this well, and in fact, has used it throughout her entire career to both express and empower. Her latest album with Endgame, called All Star, is a clear example of this because it aims to soundtrack content that emboldens women athletes to not only win but also to graciously rise and return when they lose.  We recently chatted with the prolific artist and talked about her career, the album, and if she prefers sleeping versus eating.   Check out the special Sound Screen episode.

Song Against Songs, The by G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) Spanish with Levi Levi Flint 🎙️ Welcome to Spanish with Levi — formerly Mexican Fluency.I’m Levi — a gringo with a Master’s in Teaching Spanish — and I’m here to help you understand and sound more Mexican when you speak.Alongside my Mexican wife, Renata, I share practical tips, immersive stories, and real conversations to help you build fluency and speak with confidence.📅 New episodes every week:• Tuesdays: Smarter ways to study Spanish• Thursdays: Immersive content — stories, scene breakdowns, and interviewsExplore my courses, blog, and more at SpanishWithLevi.com📱 Follow me on social: @SpanishWithLevi Newsic – The sound of the headlines Newsic Team Newsic – The sound of the headlines.
