SOUR GRIPES #5: This is What it Sounds Like... When Dads Cry (During E.T.)   This is perhaps our funniest and most intimate episode yet. Many of us hold our family histories sooo close to the vest that our fear of what our upbringings say about us prevents us from breaking it all down- even to our closest comrades. One of our regular contributors affirmed that this topic was "too close to home." It doesn't get more literal than that, kids. Shannon, Jamie, and I fueled this installment with our own childhoods. We unbarred vaults that exposed a ton about how we relate to our families now, as well as what we yearn for and value in our adult relationships. In the process, I hope we modeled how well poignancy and our collective ability to laugh [at the absurd ways our people coped with parenting, family conflicts and depression] can mix.   We'll be back to taking your burning gripes on our next episode!
