South Africa Travel Unbanning

from African Dialogue · host Channel Africa

With South Africa now at level one of its lockdown regulation, borders into the country will be open for tourists and business travelers from the rest of Africa and those coming from outside the continent. South Africa’s Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma published a series of directives for travelers, including travellers providing a valid certificate of a negative test. The directives also include barring travellers from a list of such countries with a high Covid-19 infection and transmission which may change depending on the country-by-country infection statistics. All commercial seaports are open and international air travel from the 1st of October will be restricted to OR Tambo International Airport, King Shaka International Airport; and Cape Town International Airport. To assist us on this we are joined by: • Dr Helen van der Plas is an Infectious Disease specialist• Dr Albie De Frey, Director Travel Doctors • Bongiwe Pityi-Vokwana , General Manager, OR Tambo International Airport
