President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that government has signed a framework agreement which is expected to create 275 000 jobs annually, he said this would provide an opportunity to "develop trust and forge cooperation". Speaking at the national jobs summit held last week Ramaphosa said a lot needed to be done to lift the economy which saw a recession in the second quarter. Furthermore, the financial sector has committed one-hundred billion rand over the next five years to support black businesses. The summit, collaboration between business, labour and government, aims to find ways to address the country's high unemployment rate.To help us unpack the discussion for the day, we are joined by: • Amanda Fitchen is an economist at Amandla Consulting • Mamokgethi Molopyane is a labour analyst
