South Africa's midterm policy budget

from African Dialogue · host Channel Africa

Time to go to what’s happening on the continent and today we zoom into South Africa where the Finance Minister this week presented the midterm policy budget for 2020. Among other things he said current forecasts are for the South African economy to grow by 3.3% in 2021, 1.7% in 2022 and 1.5% in 2023. However, the organisation Fight Inequality Alliance South Africa is of the view that the midterm budget plan is sending the country from recession to depression. To talk more about this we are now joined on the line by Dominic Brown from the Alternative Information and Development Centre..
