Google has committed to a $9 billion investment through 2027 in Berkeley and Dorchester Counties. A separate company has proposed an 860-acre, $6 billion campus right next to the ACE Basin in Colleton County. And South Carolina has no official system for tracking how many centers exist, how much water they are drawing, or how much power they are consuming.We follow the money, look at what protections exist for ratepayers, and talk about the bill that would have changed things and died on May 14th.
