South Florida Surf Forecast Saturday Sunday High Rip Current Risk Atlantic Beaches Three to Four Foot Waves

from Surf Report for Miami Florida · host Inception Point AI

Good morning! This is your Saturday surf zone forecast for South Florida, brought to you by the National Weather Service in Miami. We're tracking a HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK that will remain in effect through Sunday evening along the Atlantic beaches of Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties. If you're planning to hit the water this weekend, pay close attention to this advisory. Let's start with today's conditions. Expect surf heights of three to four feet across the Atlantic side, which should provide some decent conditions for water enthusiasts. The water temperature is running in the upper seventies, so it'll feel refreshing but comfortable. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the east at ten to fifteen miles per hour depending on your location. Weather-wise, we're looking at mostly sunny skies with only a low chance of showers and thunderstorms today. However, there is a very high UV index, so make sure you're protecting yourself with sunscreen. High temperatures will reach around eighty degrees. Tides will peak this morning. If you're in the Palm Beach area, expect high tide around ten ten AM, with a low tide following around four sixteen PM. Over in Miami-Dade and Broward, high tide arrives a bit later, around ten forty-six AM. Now, here's the important part about those rip currents. The National Weather Service emphasizes that life-threatening rip currents are LIKELY in the surf zone, particularly near groins, jetties, reefs, and piers. Always swim near lifeguard stations and never fight a rip current. If you find yourself caught in one, swim parallel to the shore until you escape its pull. Moving to Sunday, conditions will remain quite similar. We'll keep that three to four foot surf and the high rip current risk throughout the day and into the evening. The main difference you'll notice is an increase in thunderstorm potential to moderate. So while we still expect mostly sunny skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms, that activity will be more likely than today. Winds stay light from the east, and temperatures will hover around eighty degrees. Now, if you're down in the Naples and Marco Island area along Collier County, you're in for a different story. That area will see much calmer conditions with surf heights of one foot or less and only a low rip current risk. Today will be sunny and pleasant with highs in the mid-eighties and light east winds. Sunday brings a moderate chance of showers and thunderstorms, but again, very calm surf conditions. Bottom line for your weekend: Atlantic-facing beaches will have better surf but come with significant rip current hazards. The gulf side will be calm and perfect for families. Whatever you choose, respect the water and have a great Saturday and Sunday!
