Southern Ground | A Public Land Legend with Michael Perry

In the south you have deer hunters, and then you have legends like Michael & Kat Perry. They’re almost in a division of their own when it comes to hunting public land in Alabama, and their gigantic trophy room backs that up. We got the opportunity to sit down with them, surrounded by over 20 years worth of hunting memories, and hear some stories, strategies and tactics they have used to run their taxidermy bill up each and every year. Not only does Michael have a large collection of public land bucks on the wall, he’s also kept a detailed journal of every hunt from 1988 to now. It’s surreal as you read through his public land encounters throughout the years, and even more impressive that he can tell you the location and date of almost every single successful hunt in the journal.
