Southern Miss basketball just landed a major coaching upgrade: Kailex Stephens, a dynamic former player and skilled coach, is joining the staff for the 2026-27 season. With a proven track record at Central Methodist — where he led them to a 19-win campaign and a deep tournament run — Stephens brings elite skill development expertise that head coach Jay Ladner says is exactly what they need. His overseas pro experience and standout college career, including top rebounding honors at Indiana State, make him a rare asset.
