What this episode covers
00:00 Well, look at here, Lee. What's that? Southern state after southern state calling special sessions to redraw their congressional maps. Now that we know the system of awarding Republican congressional seats to Democrats just because they're black is illegal, is unconstitutional. But not here. Not here. Somehow Alabama, Louisiana. 00:28 Mississippi just announced a special session. Not us. Nope, not us. Did I not say as soon as the Supreme Court ruled, it would go exactly this way? Like no one had weighed in yet and I said, this is what's gonna happen. I'm gonna go ahead and do the news now. This was last week. Before any of the legislative leaders weighed in before McMaster weighed in, I said, look, I just know these guys. They will protect. 00:58 Clyburn because they're liberals who run as Republicans because they can't get elected any other way. But they're Democrats. The leadership up there anyway, it's not the whole legislature. have some good, we have good people in the legislature. There's not leadership, unfortunately. And lo and behold, it went exactly as I said. One thing you got to notice this weekend, okay, so McMaster was finally forced, I think being blasted on this station and he hears it. McMaster was finally our governor. I call him McDisaster because he is a disaster. 01:28 was finally forced to come out and make a statement. But if you look at the details of it, he called for the legislature to look at the map. 01:40 You don't want to redraw it, sir? No, just look at it. 01:46 Okay, because it was drawn to elect Clyburn because he's black. um What about notice what he didn't call for Lee, did he call for a special session? Because that's what it would take. I mean, we're at the end of the legislative calendar. I don't know how many days we have left like three. just said it's up to the legislature, which it is, but yeah. Yeah, but come on, if you're going to have, if you're going to be a leader in this state, you're going to put, you're going to put pressure on the legislature by calling for them to have a special session. He did it. You can order it. 02:14 Yeah, he could order the special session. He could do any number of things. He didn't do any of that. He said, oh, look at the map. That means nothing. And then when you have a special session that is called, you can look at that one specific issue, according to the Robert Trudeau's order, I believe. So this is McMaster dodging in a way that he can claim he did something in order to protect Clyburn. This is what they do. McMaster is a uber liberal Republican. 02:41 And he governor, the way he governs as a liberal is by not doing things. And if you look at his governorship, he has basically not done anything in order to avoid doing conservative things. So they're all protecting Clyburn. That district should not exist. Look, when you look at New England, 40 % of the vote cast there is Republican. We have almost no congressional seats at all. 03:11 And so the way to keep Trump from being impeached by people who shouldn't even be in Congress because their seats are unconstitutional, we need to redraw this map. There's a great analysis out there that yes, the legislators are pretending that, you know, in the state newspaper that this would make these districts more liberal. Yes, there would be fewer Republicans in them and more Democrats, but not enough that it would make a difference. 03:36 In other words, we're still going to overwhelmingly, if we redraw this thing and absorb the Democrat voters from Clyburn's district, the districts, there will be no, no, they'll be all Republican and there'll be no districts that are won by Trump by less than 16 points. 03:53 because these districts are so overwhelmingly Republican already. So yes, they'll get a little less Republican, but it's not gonna make any difference. But they won't do it. They won't do it, because they wanna protect Clyburn's seat. And that totally disenfranchises South C ...
