A Wayne County jury has found Michael Lopez guilty in the fatal shooting of Melvindale Police Officer Mohamed Said. Prosecutors said Lopez opened fire during a 2024 foot chase. After hearing days of testimony and reviewing the evidence, jurors returned guilty verdicts in just 45 minutes. Lopez now faces life in prison, with out parole when he is sentence May 18th.
