Space 1 - December 28, 2024 - Taxation And Americans abroad

from ExpatriationLaw - X Spaces Lives Discussions - Ending Double Taxation Of Americans Abroad · host Expatriation Law

After President Trump made his pledge to end the “double taxation” of Americans abroad, I created an X.com community - “End Double Taxation and FATCA” - to discuss this issue. My goal was to unify Americans abroad in their understanding of what could be achieved. In the past “Americans abroad” have (in effect) divided and conquered themselves. The “X.com Spaces” series has become an important tool to facilitate an understanding of the issue and a commonality in approach. My (John Richardson) first space on December 28, 2024 was intended to be nothing more than an experiment. The reaction was positive and I intend to continue these discussion throughout the tax reform process of 2025. This is a public episode.
