Space Exploration
from RUNNIN WITH ROSEA · host URosarioRadio
Runnin' with Rosea orbited around the subject of space exploration this week. The News of the Week feature began with a discussion last week's news about Falcon Heavy launch, an ambitious new rocket launch from the company SpaceX that intends to carry very heavy objects into space. Paola and Max talked about the development and some of their concerns about, and the promises of, the project. For Learning English on Air, Max described two types of metaphor, metonymy (in which something is identified by its property, or by something related to it), and synecdoche (in which something is identified by one of its component parts). Even though these words may be new, metonymy and synecdoche are everywhere!Later, they were joined by Juan David Malvehy, a tech entrepeneur and space enthusiast who filled us in on more of the details and motivations behind the SpaceX project and its founder, Elon Musk.
