Hello, and welcome to the Daily Grateful. My name is Michael Croes. Please allow this indulgence before I start the podcast. My Facebook post today read as follows.
Okay, kids, in today's strange question from Michael, I'll take you back to the early 70s and ask you what album cover was drawn or actually painted by Norman Rockwell. And who were the two people that were featured on this cover? Here's my hint. One of the people was the founder of the band called Blood Sweat and Tears.
The other was a blues guitarist who could not sleep when he worked, which led to his early death. Well, that massive amounts of drugs. The first person with the right answer wins the grand prize of making me smile. Now, I already got an answer from my friend, John Palmer Clerich.
Now, he's a big shot. All right, his first wife wrote Norman Rockwell's biography. And he didn't know the answer to this. So I wrote to him.
I said, there's absolutely no excuse for you not to know this when you consider that your first wife wrote the book on Norman Rockwell. Shame on you. You don't win the first prize. You don't get a copy of the home game or any other consolation prize.
We will now start the podcast. And on the podcast today, I have seven things to be happy about on today, April 9 2025. Now, I'm not the brightest guy in the world. So I went to not one, not two, but three AIs.
And I said, please list the game all the same prompt. Please list seven things that we should all be happy about on this day, or 925. So the first one I did this with was Claude.ai. And I their number one answer.
This is good. Spring is in bloom and many places bringing renewed life color and longer daylight hours after winter. Oh, gosh, I'm boring. Let's see what meta AI says.
Oh, no. All right, what the hell. Spring is in bloom in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere. Spring is finally arrived, bringing it with it vibrant colors, warmer temperatures, and longer days.
Okay, let's go the old reliable and see if they have something original. Say, by the way, I've not read these at all. I'm this is right off the cuff. I'll tell you what I'm happy about in just a second.
Chate TPT. Okay. Let's get to that one. Number one, the days are getting longer in the Northern Hemisphere.
Spring is in full swing. Oh, God, which means more daylight blooming flowers, general lift in the mood and color. I'm going to tell you what to be happy about today. I'm going to tell you what I'm happy about today.
All right. I took my grandson. He's 12. And he's like six foot two.
So I have to look up to him. And I used to hold him and carry him around. Not that long, but just, I mean, he was, I was just changing his booby diapers. I mean, come on.
I took him up to the Tampa Bay Technology Center and introduced him to all of the techs there who do computer repair. And my grandson has really gotten into tearing computers apart and putting them back together and building new computers and all that good type of stuff. So I took him there and every one of the techs was so kind to him and so nice to him. And they gave him a computer to tear apart.
They gave him parts and he looks at me and goes, Oh, cramp, I'm in my happy place. And I said, yes, me too. And you know, they invited him back any time. Unfortunately, this Friday, he's moving to Michigan.
But if he wasn't, and he's homeschooled, I would have drug his butt up there every Wednesday and every Friday to work with the techs and learn because that would have been part of his education. That made me very happy today. What else made me happy? Let's go to another one of these and see here.
According to Claude, number two, medical advances continuing at a remarkable place pace going to chat GPT, medical breakthroughs are saving lives. Is there nothing original in AI and over to meta? Oh, taxi and a taxi season is almost over. Okay.
I'm giving this one to meta. But now back to me, because you know, I'm more interesting than AI. I hope I'm going to do a whole thing on AI because AI is just really starting to, you know, it's a wonderful tool. But you know, if I see another AI image on Facebook of a beautiful country home that is supposedly for sale in North Carolina, and you can tell that the damn thing was created on AI and it's all BS.
Anyway, I'm gonna have a thrumble. But anyway, the other thing is the other day, just before it started to rain with a cold front come through. And I went out and I fertilized just my front yard, just my front yard with a retreat fertilizer. And today, after it had, oh, I would say about, I don't know, six hours of very light, but pleasant rain.
Today, it's got flush with green. It needs to be moat, just front yard needs to be moat. It's for, you know, what we call in the in the grass thing, a Wednesday mo. But I'm not gonna do it today.
I'm gonna try and do it tomorrow morning. But it looks so good. So I'm very grateful for that. And all of that.
Let's see what else did meta say new beginnings are possible. Yeah, I guess. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Yeah, that's true.
You know, when Zach and I are working together and we're out anywhere together, we have one number one rule and that we have to do something good for people today. We have to do something kind, and we have to serve people some way, somehow. Give $5 to the guy that's got the cardboard sign. Yeah, I always do that.
And I don't want to hear about it. I don't care. Always do it. We reach in our pockets.
We pull out money. We give it to these people. And we reach in our pockets and we gave one to this young lady one time. And she was starving and she was so grateful.
She you know, so, you know, yes, small acts of kindness. That's something that you can be grateful, you know, that you can be happy about and grateful that you took part in that. I'm hoping, I'm hoping, that you're having a terrific day. Oh, did you guys watch?
I just want to throw this in. Chicago Med on NBC this week. You can stream it stream this episode. And it's about the guy that is the assistant chief of medicine.
And it's all about him. And I have to tell my friend about this who had a heart transplant. And there's a sub story of a young man who had a heart transplant. And he was brought into the hospital because he was having trouble breathing and all this.
Watch the show. Watch this show. It'll make you so damn happy. See you tomorrow.
