Speak Oh Lord (1st Samuel 3:1-21)

This Sunday in 1st Samuel 3, we see a pivotal moment in Israel's history: God speaks again. In a time when "the word of the LORD was rare," God calls the young Samuel and begins to restore His prophetic word and presence among His people. But what does it mean for us to truly listen when God speaks? As we consider Samuel's response, "Speak, for your servant hears," we'll be reminded that God still speaks through His living and written Word—and that His Word both exposes our sin and draws us into the transforming presence of Christ.
