SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE
from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix
Scripture: Ephesians 4:15 "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ." Speaking the truth is essential, but how we deliver that truth matters deeply. In a world quick to criticize or correct, Paul’s instruction is a call to maturity: to speak truthfully, yet with love, gentleness, and humility. Truth without love can wound. Love without truth can mislead. But truth spoken in love brings growth, healing, and unity. Jesus modeled this balance perfectly. He confronted sin, challenged hypocrisy, and corrected misunderstandings—but always with a heart full of compassion. When we follow His example, our words become instruments of grace, not weapons of condemnation. This principle applies to every relationship—family, friendships, church, and even online conversations. Before we speak, we must ask: Is what I’m about to say true? Is it loving? Is it helpful? Love is not silent when truth is needed, but it speaks with patience and kindness. Today, ask yourself: Do my words reflect both truth and love? How can I speak in a way that builds others up and points them to Christ? Prayer: Almighty Father, help me to be a vessel of truth spoken with love. Guard my heart from harshness or pride, and give me wisdom to know when and how to speak. May my words bring light, healing, and encouragement, just as Yours do. In Jesus' name, Amen.
