Greetings, greetings. Welcome to a special episode of Truth to Power. I'm your host, Terris Lignite. We shall be joined later on by some special guests.
This is my one year anniversary of Truth to Power. It's a very special episode because, and just doing this one year, it's really been special for me because of the fact that I've been going, I went through a lot of stuff within a one year and I was able to show some resilience so they're great and just continue to keep going. We got the week, for those who don't know, initially I was engaged in the beginning of the year, but when they fell apart, I just kept on going, kept on working, kept on working. I didn't let it affect me at all.
I'm just very appreciative for all the guests I have that's going to come on the show, every individual guest. They're just very special to me because these are the people that really come and these are the people that motivated me. These are the people that really kept their fire burning. I thank you all for listening for this whole year.
I got more to come and I got more projects to come within the next year. Thank you. Mr. D.
Sean, how you doing? Can't complain too much brother. It's like we the first one here, you know what I'm saying? We don't wait on other people to roll up in, roll up in this thing.
We can get it popping. So what's been going on? Working hard. Working hard.
That's where they're heading out in DC in a couple of weeks. Then there's going to be off the barrel there. Then Colorado. So we can move it bro.
Man, you got a full-on channel right? I know. I think it was going to be like this. I think it was going to be like this.
Just putting out a product that people want to hear. People want to see. Yeah. Make sure you do what it do.
Keep an eye out for the heaters. Oh yeah. The people that I want to see you do and I want to see you promise. Yeah, you know the interesting thing about that is everybody's been showing a little bit like they say something.
They say something. They say something like that. Oh, congratulations. I hope it's going to be a big move.
It's always something. I can't just say congratulations or leave it alone. No. Well, they don't necessarily start.
They want to make it be a good move. They want to assist and help out with something. You don't want to make anything like that. We want to talk about it.
That's the thing that's frustrating. Do something up. I'm gonna make up until it's for other people. And they hate me all day.
That's not a good look. Well, Alicia just, Alicia is going real from the fake right now. Yeah, it's been going over the last couple of years. You're now?
No. You're, I'm like, hey. I'm trying to figure out, I'm like, man, you know, I'm trying to like have people beg no matter what. I saw for anybody, you know, I got to beg.
I'm going to, basically, hear me. I was like, man. You know, how y'all still really changed within a year's time. Yeah.
My very much been down to the, you know, salad. Like this day, it's not like people are supposed to be here. And salad. Well, like I say, some get revealed in time.
I mean, you know, they always talk much about people in your life or reason or season or lifetime. You just got a lot of reason or season people. That's your total lifetime. Yeah.
So everybody else must be caught up with some. Yeah, man. I got a total shoe. I got a total shoe for the more people.
Well, definitely not the way that the discussion started. They rolled up in the wrong. So let's talk about the number of Geiger case. Oh, oh, oh, oh.
You know, for those who don't know, number of Geiger, that's the, she's an officer that broke into a Black man's apartment and just basically executed him. She, at that point, she wasn't an officer because she was a billion because she was a bitty. Not only that, she stayed and burned the floor at him. And the way the apartments are made is that you really can't open a door which is on key.
So you have to force over in there. If like you got the wrong key, the light, the way the security and the apartment is set up is once you turn the key and it's the wrong key, it's not gonna let you in. And for her to say that the door was cracked from what I understand from people that live in the apartment door, they said that once you open the door, they close by itself. So, and this you got caught in many lives.
And she also was having a affair with the guy who killed the Black person as well. And they were sending racist statements to the back of each other as well. Mr. Disha, what are your thoughts on this case?
Well, this is my thing. And I'm looking at it from a perspective of somebody who would be naive. So what was going on, what was going on? If you truly believe, okay, she was upstanding, you have several things that didn't take place, that shouldn't take place.
Yeah, it was out doing it. But you still had your head set up. It had set. So if you, if it is the way you said it was, the door was cracked and you saw somebody in your apartment, why didn't you come back up?
Why didn't you announce your offense police? I'm just saying, you know, just things like that. So I mean, those things didn't happen. Then plus they said the way to build it, into the person's body, it was like they were standing over the person.
It was, you know, the person was shot down. I mean, there was just so many things that she shouldn't, there was no alibi, there was no excuse. Cause there was so many things that if the story went the way she said it, this person's technical would be aligned right now. If things happen the way she said it, if she was supposed to do what she was supposed to do, as even though she was all due to the officer law.
But we all know that it wasn't the story. I'm just kind of frustrated with the simple fact of I understand everybody, you know, having all the help and they want to forgive and stuff like that. But I'm a lot of lines of it. Somebody killed me, y'all been not forgiven.
I'm sorry, I'm just glad for y'all. I'm just, especially my hugging and stuff, consulting the person they killed. I can't remember. No, I can't do that.
No, because it's weakness. I like telling people that it's weakness, like this I would forgive myself. Like if somebody did that to my brother, I probably had eight family members later and I could better, better, better get home and then leave them out too. Cause there ain't no way.
I just can't see that. And even a judge was, I think even a judge was in all the cause the judge was, you know, trying to throw this cape away, then the judge up there hugging on the secret and doing all kinds of shit. This is my thing about it. Also with the judge and even the deputy conga, this right now, my hand, stuff like that.
And the thing about it is, was getting retweeted and reposted by, you know, a majority of Americans, what I'm going to do is effect. Ooh, look. Hello. Hi guys.
Can you hug him? Yeah. So, so you just joined us, you're talking about the other guy talking, giving us stuff. Like I was saying, I mean, we all come from the council today, but like I said, we're Haitian American, we're African American.
A lot of times a lot of immigrants come to this country, they'll have the same experiences as African American, so their responses are different than what, being you, will feel is the appropriate response. So, I mean, I'm gonna give them that, but now we shouldn't have to be always the ones to forgive and forgive. We always got a, forgive and forgive slavery, I forget Jim Crow, I forget please, please, Nataly. No, that's not good only.
You know what I'm saying? That's what my frustration with all of the deal. What's your thoughts on this situation? I think I may have been listening to a piece of this.
My first question is, did they know this lady beforehand? Because it raised some questions about something maybe her and the guy used to date before. Anything from now on, apparently? I know that's a lot from some, I think that's some heck.
However, I don't think she was one of those females. The way she was talking about the lady lover, I don't think one of those females. OK, because it just seemed like a family's kind of familiar with her. That's why that's his mouth pain.
And so what the show was stating about immigrants do feel like, don't feel like we feel. I think it was very big of him to give her a hug and embrace her. But I don't know. Maybe it was a year of, this ain't been gone on a year.
Way too long for one. And maybe he may have kind of times with it at this time. And you feeling like, you know, like, doesn't look her. And he's OK with this?
But I don't think I would be able to be in that space where I am at this point. Well, with that being said, do you think it's like, as far as like black Americans and African immigrants and Haitian immigrants, do you think it's time for us to separate ourselves completely from them and forget this start on capitalism? I don't think so. I don't think we should know.
I think we should educate them, but not separate. Exactly. I feel the same way. We don't need to separate.
But they got to feel our pain. And they got to say, oh, you're coming for it. Because I mean, I'll get around some. A lot of them come to this country.
And then they realize, oh, they look at all of us the same. Like, well, who's that? I'm going to do the aloe. They can look upstairs.
Right. You know, so they come to realize eventually, it's just some figure out sooner than us. And it also depends on religion. Because according to the report that the gentleman was singing gospel music, 20 minutes before it even happened.
Cola lyrics. OK. Yeah, some cola lyrics. Tires, he was singing gospel music.
He was with us tomorrow times. OK. So my whole problem, Christian is this. Like everybody wants to go on his own for dancing.
Oh, well, what he's got to forget about the rest of this. Everybody used Christian energy as a way to the sky of this, in my opinion. Like, nobody used it as a strength. Everybody used it as a weakness.
The only people that used it as a strength, oh, it's a premise. So while people are still going like, oh, it would be that he doesn't get Christian. No, he's a horrible Christian because they got punched in a Bible where Jesus started with an ass. And even in Revelation, they say he can't come back and start with an ass.
So what's up with all that? Well, maybe he not. They are in that part of the Bible. He can feel it's not good yet.
It's not good. I know I'm a Jesus of a Christian, but I've told you I've felt about the whole situation. So Deanna did join us. Deanna did join us.
OK. This is probably just clean from it. Well, give us your thoughts on Abigaga case, if you don't mind. I was just talking to Michael Worker about it.
And we had mixed thoughts because I thought of bullshit that she only got a few out of years. And then he brought up the African-American cop that shot the lady, the Australian lady, and that guy only got 12 years. And then we went to the whole her whole motive and things like that. And the kind of semi-masons of what we think happened.
So I got a question about the African immigrant that shot the way lady. Does he know that that lady was running like him in a dark alley? And they got a phone call with it. Yeah, we do.
I thought that. OK. Yeah. Yeah, but we also discussed as a cop, the protocol thing, in both situations and how they weren't handled correctly.
But that was my argument as well. Like it was in a different situation. And also she wasn't a cop in the town because she was out doing it. So it was like a citizen on a citizen.
She's still a cop. She's a cop in the profession. But she's out on the clock. She was on the clock.
You're your cop regardless of your own duty or your own duty. Your cop, your cop. Oh, OK. OK.
Go here with your thoughts. I think my thoughts are done. OK. I do have a question.
OK. As a cop, I always thought, and I could be wrong, that when you feel attacked, the first thing you do is shoot at the lead, not at the chest. No man. I'm going to ask you to shoot at the lead.
I'm going to ask you to shoot at the right. OK. You're supposed to shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot. So you're not going to shoot and bite you to harm them.
You shoot them to kill. If somebody is going to hurt you, you're not going to try to harm you. My whole with that with the ice cream with the ice cream cup in the same. OK.
I mean, but that's what I like to say. She did a photo protocol. You know, she was all doing. She still all took the law.
She's still going to call for backup before she entered up on her. She couldn't announce herself. She wasn't even in her house. No, but that's the point.
That's the point. Right. Right. She used to talk about the issue.
Oh, yeah. That was the excuse. But that was the excuse. She said that now as an officer, she should have called back.
She was talking about the excuse for time. We know she's called by the murder. Yeah. That was the excuse.
Right. Now, comes back up. Before she got shot, she hadn't already made five mistakes. Yeah.
So it was unnecessary. More because she was talking about she performed. Yeah. Oh, I don't think so.
So many holes in the story. She was ridiculous. Did she even perform? I'll take you.
She claimed that she did. She claimed that she tried. But what she was saying. She did.
That must have been some good sex. Yeah. So she's just must have been sent to something. Something has been a comfortable.
There made her that excited what she didn't realize. She wasn't in her own home. Yeah. No, but about the baby back.
So, so. Let's talk about Malik, Yoba. Yoba, so. So, no, no, no, no.
Whether Leslie, Melissa, and Central, other trans people. I'll give you a talk about that. Well, like, you know, we've had this conversation before on the podcast. It's been known around New York City since like, we all got the cover that he like, and those in playing his one.
But that's not the issue, it's the issue, it's the epitaphile, because it was, you know, if it's alleged that he did, try to solicit under age, trans women, that's pedophile behavior. I don't know, like I said, you love who you want love, long as they all age. That's how I feel, ain't out of my business. But what you saw, that's what other age people, we need to go to jail, that's just me.
Slick. I feel like if the allegations are correct, like these don't end up stating, I think they definitely need to be put in the category of what are killing. Thank you. I don't care what you decide to be or be with, under age is under age, whatever the situation is.
And first of all, you shouldn't be soliciting anyone, period. If you feel like this, what you want to do, and you open the anis about it, what you want to do on the public, join the folks. We do, you all got a couple. Exactly.
So I just feel like let's free him, let's give him the same energy we give him our Kelly. Exactly. And is this any, it's any one of the issues, doing the same thing? Key.
As far as eliciting goes, I think that's just kind of a part of the culture now. So that, that society, it's a part of the thing. People solicit people all the like, via Tinder, via any of these. She's saying people don't have game anymore.
Oh, shit. It's no point, like I'm saying, like people don't think dating is a thing anymore. If you have all these internet sites for dating, and people solicit on these sites, like it's a thing. So, Oh, wait, are we going to say for a relationship?
Oh, we solicit it for a fact. That's too different. Yeah. You're not listening for relationships.
They're soliciting for sex. Like, are they not? Yeah. Like on that line day and stuff like that.
I don't even know what that is. I'm tender. You don't want to. And these other like, these other dating sites that should be like, oh, we're going to date.
People are literally looking for people to go with. But I know that there's a lot of there. And as far as. I'm scared for that.
They pay for the what? But if you have a sex on pretend it, I mean, think about it. If you go out on a date, you're going to date. I think you're going to date, then you owe me what you got.
And then so yeah, pay for it. I got it. If I add something that you pay for a monthly, is there a seat? That's not even a no, not for those, but there are, but there are other acts like back page.
Oh, okay. You got the list. Oh, you got the list. I'm going to get the budget.
So, sorry, it's pimping. That's what you're telling me. Somebody is pimping. It's not that, but it's with a.
You pay somebody monthly to hook up with somebody. That's pimping. No, it's a website. You don't have to pay.
No, no, no, no, no. That's all they. Right. So, who ever is behind the website?
Is it the person who's coming? Yes. Okay. Okay.
So, boy, I'm sorry. This is loose to me. No, but, but the people don't have to pay monthly to be on these websites. They just go to the website.
People advertise themselves and then they meet up and they go. But as far as the other age situation, I tell you're there, there's only those. There's only one thing there, right? There's nothing else.
There's a thing there, right? There's a lot, but that's what. There's a lot of people saying, you don't give their entrepreneur pay, you don't know if you're a first cod of a class. I'm glad you brought up some piano.
It's where society goes. Like I don't know too much about the LGBT community, but mainly because I don't try to, you know, learn loosely about it because they don't want to pertain to me. But I not more confused than ever when I was on a grassroots creative. It was like, you're trying to convince me, but you're trying to convince me and other was that people that were born men cannot be women.
What do you thought? I totally missed what you said is the beeping and I you said born men and that's all I got. I said they were trying to convince people that people that were born men cannot be treated as women or classified as women. What do you think people that are born men cannot be treated as women?
Can't all treat it like women that are classified. It's a treat. Yeah, that's a thing. Yeah, that's a thing.
Like if you like if you're a male, but you identify as a female, then you can identify as a female. If you want pronouns used in a sense of I'm a female, then you can do that. Like like a big freedom and a 16 OB like that. Like if if if freedom is like, I'm a she and I want to be called a she and that's why on television, they refer to her as she because she was that's what she identified as.
Next. Oh, I was just like you when I left this is the record. And so I even brought it up to the show. I say, listen, they didn't edit like seven more minutes.
But I don't know. Keep that in the right way. Don't you listen. I respect whatever whatever I want to do.
But like I was telling him, I do want to understand because I don't want to offend anyone. But that interview, not only the breakfast club, but the listeners and the LGBT community confused. He was trying to per se make himself fit into something he did not really research or know. It was I buy this.
This I ask you I was very confused at the end. So I don't know. I don't want to get much of opinion on it because I still don't understand. And what are you referring to that?
You don't understand. So he stated that it's L G B T Q Q. I get it. I get it.
I get it. And I see it. That doesn't do. I think questioning.
So you used to be queer. And then now I think they changed the questioning. That's an I. I don't know what that is.
So it was it was it was it was it was other letters that I never heard. Mm hmm. So it was very confusing. And I still don't understand.
Yeah. I just missed it. Mr. Michelle.
Sorry. Did you finish your talk? Yeah. I'm pretty sure.
What's your thoughts? What are your thoughts? You could identify if you want to identify. Probably respectful.
My own issue is with that. Breakfast London. You I felt. But the yoga was trying to take advantage.
And try to face itself remote. That's what it's like about the interview. OK, the teacher, the actors from the reality show. OK, they that's the life they lived.
That's one of the good. But the legal goes on a piggyback. Right. And I didn't like that.
That's what I might as well. But I think so far like the LGBTQ plus. Plus. I like that.
That's that's how you know, just they really like. Well, they were stuck. Why do you want stuff? You know, the LGBT W.
W. W. W. W.
W. W. W. W.
W. And he definitely was making it about himself. And they were trying to. So my my.
My thing is this, though, not just think they were trying to try to touch with people because. Like if you're born with a penis, if you're born with a penis, then you're a man. That's what they can call yourself. You go.
No, that's what nature is told about. You can't set your issues to go with all day. Like, I don't want my. Right.
You can't. Yeah, you can't tell me. I like it. What about what about children?
You're going to like what you're going to learn. Yeah, children are nobody. You don't need to like girls when I was a little boy. Yeah.
I like girls. And children don't even know about sex or anything like that until after they do things that are just what they feel. So it's kind of a matter of like somebody talking on television and saying that there are so many things that you need. It's a matter of like you did, which you're a track as well.
You feel what they're trying to teach us to young kids in the school like you're getting to history. So I mean, you're. That makes that makes sense at all. I'm trying to teach.
What is that to be so? Be respectful. They won't be embarrassing people when they go out. Why that lady has to add them?
Why they later got a five o'clock shadow? That's what teachers. I think I think I think I think those are some of the big questions. Like I thought that's a little bit of beard.
That's why I'm teaching them to because they have those exact questions. I have the same questions outside of school. What's going on here? I don't feel like the children are going to like what they want to like.
It doesn't have to be taught to them. You know, you know, your child is different. No, no, no, you don't. No, it isn't me.
Listen, listen, listen, listen. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Listen, listen. This is the one thing.
This is the one thing. You know, like he's dead. He doesn't, this is how my nanosexure other things. I hit me five.
One, two or three of them, you feel five. I go, okay, now I can see it. I can see it. You can.
I'm telling you, you can't listen. You can't pass me. I believe that as a parent, you know your child. You know your child.
Listen, listen. So, sorry. Listen. I feel like, why don't you call them a quarter of your time?
Hold up, listen. I feel like if your child has been one way, From let's just say Kennebarrton to seven great it is all of a sudden it switches on it. Oh, okay I like girls know you don't know what you like Yes, and all the girls playing Barbie dog and you outside with the boys tackling and doing other things You know something different. That is you know that this child is different.
You know your children I believe you guys you can't but the thing is this and I keep saying it over and over again And it just came out the study they're So It is definitely jump studies that you're that people like to use their backing on like hey Did this study but who did it study did they have? Okay A person personality First of all you got a child personality is not personality is not personality. Those are two different traits There's football player that could that fall in the line of masculinity to a tee and they are gay and you wouldn't know you'd be best friends with them And then all of a sudden you have is yelling match No That I Know Oh So The Lot of things that he did that was just absolutely against the law I'll be And the things that he did is just respectful he wanted the five men that was on when they see us to go to jail Oh, no, go under the jail. So guess what?
That's what I think we need to be focused on not an impeachment I think we need to go for federal investigation to put him under the jail So sneez I want to ask you something if he is removed anything here than piece and he is removed what does that mean? Nothing nothing Oh still a red state. Let's not for kids. We are in a deep shit.
We forget rid of him. I'm talking about jail. I'm not speaking of impeachment. We too far in the game to do this.
This ain't the last forever if they wanted it to. This impeachment can hold up the next presidency because if they don't find anything or they have enough evidence, but you still have to go through rules. And everybody has to agree. So, and that's what we have an election coming up where we're going to do.
They can hold that election off. Just figure out what they're going to do. And then he can get the run again. No, we don't need to do that.
Okay. So, Mr. DeShamma, I'm going to double show on his next topic because this is your favorite rapper. What did you think about Jay Z showing us out over the time?
I don't have a favorite rapper. I feel I feel he's one of the great times. But he's also a true businessman. And you know, he's out to make sure that Blue and Ruby and Sir have billions to play with when they become adults and sit there.
That's all he care about. Now I don't get him on here. So what about this? What about this?
I mean, I just thought to be going for black people. Well, I don't think they give you a chance because he doesn't supply a lawyer for people who were sore beliefs, the problems around the country here in the world villages in Africa, you know, digging wells and stuff like that. So that's why people are looking at okay, give him a chance. You know, they hit him behind their own protesters who's, you know, protesting, you know, white supremacy and also police brutality because he did all that.
That's the reason why people say give him a chance. And I also. Oh, sorry. Sure.
No, wait, go ahead. I just had a question. No, I want to know the like everybody's so open arms about it. Did Jay Z come out and say, Hey, I'm doing this for the culture or did the media say that?
And then, and if it was a media then why are people mad at him? If he never really said it. And that's the reason why I say what I said, he's trying to do something to make sure his family is secure. Yeah, like he don't.
When he makes moves for the culture, quote unquote, he says he made the move for the culture. Yeah, that's not that's my question from the beginning. They put it out there like Jay Z is doing this for black people and there's all this, whatever, but did that come from him or did that come from the media trying to invite something in which I think it's the letter. I think it was from, I think people were reading it to like, as far as his lyrics and everything else.
When he said, he said he said he said no to the Super Bowl. They need him. They don't need anything or something like that. They prove that they need that's why I gave him money.
But also, but also he was put aside in other people before about doing things in the Super Bowl from what I was saying, like Travis Scott and I'm demanding to preach. Okay. That's what people were the confusion. The thing about it was Travis Scott and Jermaine.
They was getting paid for one time performance as well. They see got a contract that basically he provides all the performances for NFL events and get paid. So he was more along the lines of if you're going to do this, do this right. Make some like make make them make them pay.
That's what he was getting there with that. I don't agree with the statement about the lyric that he stated they need him. Okay. And again, I go back to the situation.
When she said get a media play is out. He was doing it for the black people because it was questions that was given to him by Shonda. He couldn't even answer. He never gave us a statement.
He never told us what he was really doing. And guess what? If Beyonce ain't saying nothing about it, something they write to me. And I say that because she back to when he's doing something right.
I don't think she back to him. I think she said no. We're sitting around waiting like what's really going on? Okay.
I have it. I think it's not bad to him. I think that it wasn't what the media said it was. And so she ain't got another thing.
We making our money and we sit down. Well, yeah. Like I said, I think it was just about the brain and that particular thing. Like I said, the reason why people say give him a chance is because he's trapped with the show.
But the thing is, he also made those announcements when he's doing things for the culture. So what it is, everybody's waiting on you to make that announcement. And he was like, I never said I was going to make an announcement about this. It was about my pocket.
I'll make an announcement about how it worked. I'll make an announcement about how it built. I just do it. Exactly.
So I'm saying that's why I look at it. I don't think he's sold it out. I think he just made a play. I'm with some of you.
Mr. Deshaun. So, um, I've been on before we closed. I just want to give you guys some roses.
I've been trying my best to get people to vote this while they're here. I'll give them their flowers while they're here. Um, I want to start with Keanu. Even though we get on here, we argue, I know, and we argue about a lot of things.
But I think that they know you got my back and I appreciate you for your passion and, you know, having my back like you do. Snakes. I want to thank you for your consistency. I always show another, even though we don't have to and encouragement.
Mr. Deshaun. I want to thank you for your wisdom. I want to thank you for your loyalty because loyalty is hard to find out.
I want to appreciate you guys. But before we close, I want you guys to leave us with some positive. Let's see. Oh, good.
So, I'm not. The positivity just exudes from you. I don't know about this. Um, um, my positive will be like you say, get everybody their roses while they're here.
I totally say the same thing for you. I appreciate you. Thank you for motivating me to do what I do and give them your platform to start on. So again, I hope to reach back in reach somebody and do the same thing for them.
Every time. Every time. You know what I mean? You would think if I do it every time.
Yeah. Never time. Money legally. That's what I'm saying.
Investment. And investing yourself. Yes. Yes.
Yes. My positive thing will be a patient with the friend. Some of you know your nerves. I'm not.
I'm not saying any particularly. You know, we just. Hiana. Renee.
The whole family. Yes. Yes. We just want to talk about whatever.
Good night. Night guys. I have been speaking truth to power for over a year now. Consistently and persistently.
Two times of discomfort. I found comfort. Two times of disappointment. My faith in myself was appointed.
I have not wavered. I have stood ten toes down. Cheers poked out. Head raised firmly.
Through the storm. Through the rain. The pain. Fire and brimstone.
The dust settled. And I still there. Unbroken. And built into down image.
True.
