Speaking Truth That Heals, Not Hurts
from Insights Your Daily Word For Daily Living · host thelondonchristianradio
A mother once sat her teenage son down after he made a big mistake. She didn’t yell or shame him. She spoke firmly, but with tears in her eyes, saying, “I’m telling you this because I love you too much to let you keep walking down a dangerous path.” That conversation didn’t drive him away—it drew him closer. Truth is powerful, but truth without love can cut. And love without truth can mislead. In Ephesians 4:15, Paul reminds us that spiritual maturity shows itself not in harsh correction or silent approval—but in truth spoken with love. It’s how we grow individually, and how we build up the Body of Christ. Jesus modeled this perfectly. When He spoke to the rich young ruler (Mark 10:21), Scripture says, “Jesus looked at him and loved him.” Then He told him a hard truth. Love framed His correction. And that made all the difference.
