Speaking with Author, Singer Valerie Ann Thurman

Valerie Ann Thurman was born on April 17, 1950, in Nyack, New York, to Howard and Rosalie Booker. She is the youngest of three daughters. On November 27, 1968, she married Connie L. Thurman, and together they built a loving life in Nyack for twenty years before relocating in 1988 to Jefferson, Alabama, where they raised their four children.   After moving to Alabama, Valerie became a devoted member of a full gospel church, where her relationship with God deepened and her spiritual walk flourished. Her passion for writing began early, often inspired by moments when she felt the Lord speaking to her heart. On May 24, 1995, she wrote her first song, marking the beginning of her creative journey.   Since then, Valerie has written 49 songs and 58 poems, many reflecting her faith, life experiences, and spiritual insight, though not all are included in this collection.
