Welcome to The Special Comment 027: Champions League, europa League free advice Show Presented By VDG Sports The Show Notes Non-friendly reminder: Let’s be real. There are no excuses you can listen to The Show everywhere. It’s your world you have the power and the choice is yours. It’s true that the Champions League and Europa League are fantastic competitions, but they should not be played outside of Europe. Would the competitions bring the whole continent together and make fans from different countries feel closer to one another? Would they strengthen the European football economy by making more money available for clubs across the continent? Should this be something that everyone should be able to get behind? All of this is up for debate, however, I believe expanding locations outside of Europe is a horrible idea. Some decision makers think European clubs would benefit by ensuring that these two competitions are played across all the continents. Football is already global. Human beings on planet Earth can enjoy watching stellar performances from some of the world’s best players now. It’s true that the Champions League and Europa League are fantastic competitions, but they should not be played outside of Europe. This is because it would not bring the people together and make fans from different countries feel closer to one another. This divides. It would strengthen the European football economy by making more money available for clubs across the continent. But is the cost worth it?
