Special Edition with Daniel

from Exploratio-mundi · host Niklaus Bildisen

I talk with Daniel about his life in Chile and how he ended up on a small sailing boat one hundert miles north of the Brasilian coast.  We will talk about a hanged president in the street (18:00), a broken plastic bars in polevoting (27:45), how we imagine a real captain (44:40), about what kind of shit this exploratio-mundi is (50:00) and much more... What Daniel would like to add is that we forgot to talk about the beautiful Patagonia and also the Atacama desert, that the Mapuches are special in organisation and therefore survived the Spanier not like the Inka who collapsed after the killing of their one king. Also he wants to add that from the beginning on he refused to take any airplane since he left Santiago.

Terceira Margem da História Cris Paiva | Paloma Franca Amorim | Opera Mundi O Terceira Margem da História é um podcast sobre cultura, arte, política e sociedade. Stupor Mundi: The Life and Times of Frederick II Emperor of the Romans King of Sicily and Jerusalem 1194-1250 by Lionel Allshorn Loyal Books Frederick II , under whose reign the Holy Roman Empire reached its greatest territorial extent, was called by his contemporaries "Stupor Mundi," the "astonishment of the world." Frequently at war with the papacy, which was hemmed in between Frederick's northern and southern Italian lands, he was excommunicated four times. Frederick spoke six languages and was an avid patron of the arts. He negotiated a peace treaty ending the sixth crusade, reigned over a cosmopolitan court at Palermo, and entrusted the administration of his southern kingdom to an efficient Muslim and Jewish bureaucracy. Allshorn writes that "around his name there gathered a glamour of strangeness and splendour, of genius soaring to perilous questionings of eternal truths, of unbreakable resolution and of unconquerable pride." - Summary by Pamela Nagami What's Your Map?
