Special Guest: Harry Waters || The Halcyon

from You Should Check It Out · host Wimbly Stoke

First, we have some good news to share this week! Our very own Greg Loman spent a little time last year shooting a short film & it’s dropping today on the Sci-Fi platform Dust! The Halcyon, written & directed by Kaz PS, is a really cool project and we’re proud to help get the word out! Important to our episode though, it was inspired by music composed & performed by Harry Waters & Greg. They first met at a rehearsal for one of the many wounded veteran benefit concerts put on by Harry’s father Roger Waters, co-founder/bassist/singer/songwriter of Pink Floyd. We discuss how the music behind They Halcyon came to be and how it inspired the film. Check it out at watchdust.comWe’re really excited to have pianist/songwriter & composer Harry Waters join us this week for a broad discussion of topics. He’s been writing and recording the past few years with Larry John McNally under the name McNally Waters. We listen to their latest single “Bang Bang”, discuss some of their music & process. We talk about live music, the proper usage of downtime during a pandemic (an ambiguous split between practicing & videos games) & our shared connection, working with Greg. Thank you so much Harry for joining us this week! Check out Harry’s latest videos, view his showreel at harrywaters.com, & keep up to date on the latest from McNally Waters at mcnallywaters.com.Songs:Greg Loman & Harry Waters - “Mogli“McNally Waters - “Bang Bang”Mose Allison - “Parchment Farm”
