Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”‭‭ How we see ourselves and the world around us begins in our hearts. Proverbs 23:7 says, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” The words that we allow into our lives are what shape the way we see ourselves. Words that were spoken to us as children by our peers, parents and teachers can create a picture of how we see ourselves, whether positive or negative. Circumstances that we have been dealing with for a long time can create a strong hold in our minds, and we can begin to think that “it will always be this way”, and it creates a picture in our hearts of how we see ourselves. The good news is that the Word of God has the power to transform these negative pictures into ones that line up with God’s Word.
