These interviews were recorded in January 2024 as part of Sarah’s Andrew Glasgow Residency. This Glasgow residency provides emerging and established writers, scholars, curators, and storytellers in all mediums with the freedom to write stories and conduct research and interviews on topics designed to advance the field of craft.With the support of the Penland School of Craft, this special series aims to highlight what the Penland Winter Residency is and what it means to be a distinguished fellow. Through one-on-one interviews with select fellows, Sarah gives insight into what this experience entailed and how this opportunity impacted each artist’s current studio practice.To help introduce this series, Sarah asked members of Penland’s staff to speak on what exactly Penland’s Winter Residency is, how artists can participate, and the process for selecting distinguished fellows. In order of guest appearance: Leslie Noell, Creative DirectorNadia Massoud, Studio Operations ManagerMia Hall, Executive DirectorThe first episode will be released on Tuesday, April 9th.
