Lewis Bates is one of only two Australians to drive a current specification WRC Rally1 car, and he’s on the podcast this week to talk about it. Bates tested the Ford Puma Rally1 with fellow Aussie Luke Anear in December and tells Luke Whitten about the experience in detail, describing the car as ‘a rocketship’. The 2022 Australian Rally Champion also talks about his entry into WRC Rally Portugal later in the year and the steps that needed to be taken to secure such a drive overseas.
