Species Spotlight: Anglerfish

You'll also be surprised how many fish you recognize that are actually anglerfish, even though they go by a different name. Deep sea anglerfish get all the limelight but there are lots of species that live in the shallow depths of the ocean of various colors and shapes! These are highly prized sport catching fish. In fact if you caught one, you might want to shout out “wahoo”! They have characteristic stripes that make them look like an aquatic zebra, minus the giant buck teeth. They are strong fighters when caught on a fishing line and if they snap your line, they may have the last wahoo after all.
