Speed Dating for Friends at U of M | Memphis Tigers Basketball News

College students found their tribe at “Speed Dating for Friends,” a fun, structured event hosted by the University of Memphis Student Health and Counseling Services designed to help freshmen and others break out of their shells and form real friendships. Held at the Ned R. McWherter Library, it offered a low-pressure way to meet people outside your usual circles—with therapy dogs on hand to help ease nerves. One freshman said it made him feel less awkward in group settings, and organizers hope to make this a monthly staple to build a more connected campus where friendship feels natural, not forced.
