Spence Struggles as Royals Pitching Crumbles

Mitch Spence got the big-league call to start for the Royals after Seth Lugo went on the injured list, but his outing ended in disaster—six runs in under four innings led to a loss. With pitching depth already stretched thin due to injuries to Ragans and Bubic, the Royals are facing mounting pressure. Spence himself was frustrated, wishing he could’ve gone deeper to help the bullpen. Manager Quatraro stressed the expectation for every player to contribute to wins, even if it didn’t play out. While Kolek has stepped up impressively, Spence’s rough start is a sobering reminder of the challenges ahead. The Royals keep pushing forward, hoping consistency and resilience can carry them through this injury-laden stretch. Support the show:Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
