Spencer Shifflet - Nebraska LEAD Program Reflections
For Nebraska LEAD Fellow Spencer Shifflet, the experience has been “nothing short of remarkable.” While the program has challenged him to grow as a leader, he says one of his biggest takeaways has been the camaraderie he has developed with his cohort. The experience has also taught Spencer the importance of something fundamental to effective leadership: listening. “It's made me become a lot better listener,” Spencer says. “And I think for that, it's gonna make me a lot better leader in the future, as I take things back to my community in our local area.” For Spencer, that is what Nebraska LEAD is ultimately about—building relationships, broadening perspectives and developing the skills to return home and make a difference. #NebraskaLEADProgram #NebraskaLEAD43
