Spider-Man 3 & X-Men: The Last Stand

"The Black Goo" - In a summer that’s given us new Spider-Man and X-Men movies, we decided it was time to finally take a look back at the movies that derailed both of those respective franchises, Spider-Man 3 and X-Men: The Last Stand. In our discussion of Sam Raimi’s third and final Spider-Man feature, we agree that the movie starts off promising, but goes downhill quickly once Peter Parker turns evil from the black goo. On the flip side, in our conversation about Brett Ratner’s filmic contribution to the X-Men universe, we concur that The Last Stand sucks from the get-go and that the script by Simon Kinberg and Zak Penn deserves plenty of blame.
