Spielberg's Second Box Office Disappointment and Recommendations
from You Made Me Watch · host Joy Road Media
It was once explained to me that what makes Tiger Woods such a good golfer isn't the fact that he's the best, but the fact that he's very consistent. That can be said for Steven Spielberg too. I can't think of any movie he's made that's bad. All of them are somewhere between great and really good. 1941 was a flop at the box office, but it's really no worse than any of the other cocaine fueled John Belushi movies of that era. It's a fine spoof. Hook is a movie Spielberg kicked around for about a decade before taking a stab at it. He isn't super proud of the results, but it's a movie that has touched Allyson as well as many, many people her age.Allyson, with great hesitation, recommends the Sword and Scale podcast.Mike, true to form, recommends the all-female cast recording of Jesus Christ Superstar. Then Allyson comes back and highly and confidently recommends Bridget Everett's HBO series Somebody Somewhere.Join our Facebook group for more movie talk!https://www.facebook.com/groups/youmademewatchFollow us on Instagram @YouMadeMeWatch to get sneak peeks at which movie we'll talk about next.Logo by Martin Butler.
