Spin the Yarn - Humble Pie I got to have an interesting conversation today with a former junior Sailor of mine about how, at the time, I wasn’t a mature enough leader (Chief) to lead him the way he required and how, at the time, he was not mature enough in his development as a Sailor to perform the way he needed to. It was super enlightening for both of us, and we walked away having gained new knowledge of some leadership principles and we pulled some lessons out of our past mistakes. We also got to talk about how subsequent leaders were able to galvanize lessons learned and teach him how to mature and grow into a successful LPO to be. Highly recommend finding time to have a conversation with a past charge to get the same experience as well as rekindle a connection lost to immaturity and pride, like we were able to. Contact us!
