Spine - ACDF vs. Laminoplasty: Impact on Spinocranial Angle and Outcomes in CSM

Based on an abstract from Medicine (2026), this retrospective cohort study evaluates the effects of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) versus laminoplasty on the spinocranial angle and other sagittal balance parameters. The research included 51 patients undergoing ACDF and 69 receiving laminoplasty, with follow-up extending to at least 24 months. Key findings indicate that while both procedures improved quality of life, ACDF was associated with a superior neurological recovery rate and lower neck disability index.
