Spirit Airlines ceases operations

from WWJ: On-Demand

Spirit Airlines announced it's shutting down all operations as of Saturday, May 2nd. The budget airline failed to secure an 11th hour bailout from the Trump administration before running out of cash. The Wayne County Airport Authority asked Sprit customers to not come to the airport if they had tickets for a flight on Saturday. Meantime, several airlines are stepping up to help with reduced or frozen fares for affected Spirit passengers. David Fishman of Cadillac Travel spoke live with WWJ's Luke Sloan.
